ABOUT~Welcome!

Hello, my name is Manali! I created this community service project to help people improve their mobility, flexibility and overall movement.

My goal is to share my experience in a practical, accessible way -- completely free. This is a student-led project where I document and share techniques that have worked for me and others too.

Many people underestimate the impact stretching can have on the body. It's often overlooked, but even a few minutes -- before playing your sport or going to the grocery store can enhance better skill, benefitting from your overall health.

I have been...

- Stretching consistently for over two years to improve flexibility

- Basic first-aid certification

- Coursework related to Anatomy, Kinesiology, and Biomechanics with research

- Read a book called The Anatomy of Stretching

- Shadowing a licensed PT

For the past couple of weeks, I spent 20 minutes weekly with my mom to work on her body. She overall said that she felt comfortable trying new mobility-related movements with active stretching.

My brother spends a lot of time gaming. Every week we went through simple stretches and exercises that helped his gaming posture and the state of awkwardness with his shoulders. In the end, he described each session as "pretty fun".

This project is still growing, and I'm still continuing to learn a lot more about safe and effective ways to help people with their different needs.

Types of mobility support can include:

- Athletes for less tension and/or soreness

- Improving range of flexibility/motion

- Gentle movement for people who want to relieve pain

- People who want better posture

- Mobility with meditation + relaxation

**Note that I am a high school student, not a licensed medical professional, so if you have severe pain you should always see a professional before starting any new routine!**

Note: Everyone has a different kind of process during each mobility session. Some can be more flexibility focused while others are more in towards a mindfulness way. Also note that some sessions can be under 20 minutes if you’d like!

Minute 1-3 ~We’ll talk about pain, what you want to get out of The Mobility Clinic and more general talk.

Minute 4-18 ~ We’ll start with some breathing followed by the mobility session which can look different for everyone. We’ll end with breathing too. It may be more meditation focused if it helps with your best need.

Minute 19 to 20 ~ Here we’ll find the next date and time that works for you with also what our next week’s focus will be.

Thanks for considering joining The Mobility Clinic! You are one more person to creating a huge impact!
